Seal of Biliteracy Class of 2020
Class of 2020, can you speak and read another language? If so, you should apply for the State of Hawaii Seal of Biliteracy. To find out more and apply, please attend an informational meeting on Monday, October 21, after school in the library. If you have questions, please see Mr. Kubota in the Registrar's office.
AP Exam Fees
AP Exam Fees are being collected in the College & Career Center from October 14 - November 1. Students are required to take the AP Exam for each AP course they are enrolled in and will need to pay for each AP Exam they will be taking. The exam fee is $94 per exam and the cost for students who qualify for free or reduced lunch is $12 per exam. Cash or checks made payable to Moanalua High School are accepted.
The annual Winter Fantasy is coming soon on Thursday, December 19 at the Alohilani Resort Angelfish Ballroom, formerly known as the Pacific Beach Hotel Grand Ballroom. Table Bid Sales will take place on October 23-24. General bid sales will take place October 29-31. Refunds will take place from November 7-8. Table sign ups will be November 14-15. Last day to change your date is November 27. All bid sales and other transactions will take place in Q102L during lunch. - S. Pang
Common Application Workshops
Seniors, it’s time to get started on your college applications! Attend a Common App Workshop during tutorial on Wednesday, October 16th and Wednesday, October 23rd. Learn how to set up your Common App account, send transcripts, ask for letters of recommendation, and write your college essay. Workshops will be held in the College & Career Center.
University of California System Application Workshop
University of California admission representatives will hold a UC System Application Workshop in the College & Career Center on Tuesday, October 22nd at 2:15 pm. Seniors applying to UC schools are highly encouraged to attend.
The ASVAB Test will be administered at Moanalua High School on Friday, November 1st at 8:00 am. This test is open to all 10th, 11th, and 12th graders. While this test is for students who are interested in joining the military after high school, it is also a great interest inventory tool and any students who want to understand their interests and strengths are encouraged to take it. Come to the CCC to sign up. It’s FREE!
Science Academic Team
If you enjoy the sciences, building things, or just need something to do, consider joining the Science Academic Team! We are preparing to compete in the January and February upcoming Science Bowl, Aloha Bowl (Marine Topics), and the Science Olympiad. All grade levels are welcomed! We will be having an informational meeting on October 30th in room Q-202 Lab from 3:00 pm-4:00 pm.
